Nion Abeo – Dimension

DimensionReview

This week has been a good week in music for me, what with the new Anathema album being spectacular, Trent Reznor releasing some excellent material from his post Nine Inch Nails project How To Destroy Angels and now Nion Abeo!? God’s of music, with all these releases, you are truly spoiling me! And yes that was a reference to the Ferrero Roche advert! You have may have blanched a little at the mention of Nion Abeo amongst those renowned bands but this EP really is worthy of praise.

Disco’s Out (Murder’s In) Demo EP Review

Disco'sOutReview

So what sort of band would you expect Disco’s Out (Murder’s In) to be if you had never heard their music before? A metal band maybe? Or possibly it’s an ironic name and they’re an electro dance/disco band? Or perhaps they’re a trumpet wielding, fancy dress, alt rock band?

If you thought the latter, then you’d be correct. Well done you.

Jesserit

Jesserit EP Review

The past 5 years (or so) has seen an influx of melodic rock bands hitting the mainstream and having great success. Bands like Nickelback, Lostprophets, Fallout Boy, My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars, and you may think that as more and more of these bands pop up that you’ve heard it all. Well you haven’t heard Jesserit then.

Deltorers: EP Review

Echoes of the early 90’s Seattle grunge scene are still resounding here in Bournemouth – with feedback ‘n’ all. The self titled EP from Deltorers sounds like an In Utero era Nirvana in a pit fight with Sonic Youth and Dick Dale. This record will not please your chart loving friends.

EP Review: …And The Magical 8-Ball Band – ‘Do Not Meddle In The Affairs Of Dragons For You Are Crunchy And Good With Ketchup’.

‘Do Not Meddle In The Affairs Of Dragons For You Are Crunchy And Good With Ketchup’ is a well produced, solid rock offering from Dorset four piece …And The Magical 8-Ball Band.
