Dorset Rock Online & VDub At The Pub

Dorset Rock Online will be taking over the stage on the Sunday of this years VDUB at The Pub in August! The Wimborne Volkswagon festival is stepping it up a notch this year by accomodating for up to 1000 VW and  music fans by relocating to Wimborne’s Football grounds. The event itself is a showcase for Beetles, Campers, Buggys and more, but it’s also a great excuse to chill out with a beer and soak up the sun and live music in a cool atmosphere.

Last years event saw Voodoo Vegas headlining the musical side of the event, alongside bands such as Uncle Pablo’s Magic Potion and Colt 45. Voodoo Vegas will once again take the finale spot this year and frontman Lawrence Case is helping me select the other bands to play this much bigger gathering. So far confirmed are Voodoo Vegas, The Neon Tigers, Mischa and Si Genaro.

At it’s core, VDUB At The Pub is a Volkswagon ’show and shine’, drawing hundreds of enthusiasts and hard working owners to show off their vehicles and have a good time. The event extends beyond this though by featuring live music, family activities, stalls, beer and food. Much of the event’s profits go to Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. “We believe this a vital cause in our rural community and love to give a bit back!” says the VDUB at the Pub website.

John D, creator and organiser of VDUB at the Pub says - ”VDUB at the Pub started back in 2008. This all came about when I went to Drussilla’s Inn Steam Rally in 2007. There was loads of massive steam engines and machines and other classic vehicles. I thought, with this combination of relaxed, friendly people, great food, a beer festival, live music throughout the day and night, and in such an amazing part of the World, this would make a great place for a VW meet. I was right. 2008 was great and 2009  even better.”

Tickets are on sale now. Gates open 10am 28th Saturday August (Camping opens Friday night). Three entry rates to choose from.

    I’am really looking forward to this event! Not just the the fact we’re playing but the chance to see some awesome camper vans and, as it’s Wimbourne, enjoy some good cider!
