Oxjam Is Coming To Bournemouth – Bands, Solo Artists & DJ’s Needed!

The Bournemouth Oxjam team want to hear from local bands, solo acts and DJ’s to perform at the festival in October. Application must be made by the end of the month. For more info on what the festival is all about or how you can get involved check out the press release info below.

Oxjam is a music festival made up of hundreds of events around the UK in October. Oxjam events are organised by people who know and love the local music scene. All in aid of Oxfam. Since 2006, more than 36,000 musicians have played to an audience of over 750,000 people at almost 3,000 Oxjam events, raising in excess of £1 million to fight poverty around the world.

Bournemouth Oxjam will involve up to 34 bands / solo artists, 9 DJ slots and 6 Official Venues.

Oxjam 2010 is coming to Bournemouth on 23rd October 2010. This is the first time that the nationally recognised event has occurred in the town and it promises to be a huge event.

How it will work:

The festival itself is a national takeover event happening on October 23rd. Many different towns and cities arrange their own music events with the common goal of raising money for Oxfam. In Bournemouth there will be a range of fundraising events in the months leading up to the ‘Takeover Event’ (Oct 23rd).

The festival is a one day, multi venue event with access to the various venues gained through the purchase of wristbands prior to the day. Further lineup detail will follow but there will be a diverse range of musical genre, catering to the many tastes and scenes found in the area. This is a festival for the people of Bournemouth, by the people of Bournemouth.

Opportunities For Bands and DJs

Oxjam Bournemouth will be offering the chance for local bands, solo acts or DJ’s to perform at the festival. This is your chance to perform at some of the best venues Bournemouth has to offer.
