When reviewing music, making comparisons is a natural part of the process. The troubling thing when reviewing A State of Indifference – the debut album from Bournemouth based rock band The Longest Day – is whether to draw comparisons to other unsigned local artists, or major label acts such as Silverchair, 30 Seconds to Mars and Muse.

AC/DC’s Back In Black is the second biggest selling album in the world, coming in just behind Michael Jacksons Thriller. So that makes it the biggest selling ROCK album ever and it’s still selling now. Thirty years later and sounds just as good.

I saw these guys when they were just starting out back in 2007. I remember thinking that they lacked confidence and that nothing really stood out… boy how things have changed since then!
