Brothers Grimmer have their own corner of the local music scene covered. That can only be a good thing, especially when they produce such gems as Who I Am. The production overall combination of sounds gives the track an early-to-mid nineties alt-rock/Grunge wash and the band carry it off well.

The following review was submitted by Matt Upchuck.
Mention the Meat Puppets to most people and you will almost get a blank look from them, the best you can hope for is “didn’t they support Nirvana on the MTV Unplugged Session?” and yes they did; but to remember them for simply having Kurt Cobain singing along with them would do them a severe injustice. Especially for a fan of noisy and discordant punk rock like me.

Superunknown was released in March 1994 in the height of the ‘Grunge‘ era of rock music. Soundgarden were one of the 4 pillars of the Seattle rock scene alongside Nirvana, Alice In Chains and Pearl Jam, which brought their brand of punk/rock/metal to the mainstream. They quickly became one of the most important rock bands of the 90’s and looking back, surely one of the most influential.

With Chris Cornell recently Twittering about a Soundgarden reunion, I thought that I might waffle on a bit about the Grunge scene and some of the lesser known bands of the era.

Grunge fans take note. Taking place Friday 12th March at Champions, Bournemouth is the very first ‘C/O’ night. That C/O stands for Covers/Originals. This week you can see Brothers Grimmer, Muddy Miles and Nion Abeo performing not just their own material but your favourite 90’s Seattle scene tracks too. The event launches the debut album from headliners Brothers Grimmer and also raises awareness for the The National Autistic Society. All proceeds of the night will go to this worthy cause.
