Probably more so than with most genre names, ‘Stoner Rock‘ doesn’t always seem to be a popular tag amongst the bands that inhabit it. It’s probably due to the implication that drugs are the main inspiration behind the songs, or they are the only reason the bands can write the music they play. Personally I think this is false on both accounts. Like some of the bands themselves, I like to refer to their unique styling as ‘Desert Rock‘. Whatever title you give it (Riff Rock, Fuzz Rock…) it’s an amazing genre in its own right. I thought you guys (and it’s mostly the hairy muthas out there I’m talking to) would like to know a bit more about it.

You may think it’s a little random that we’re running a press release for a microphone company. Under normal circumstances you’d be right, but let me tell you a little bit about Sontronics - surely any local brand boasting a client list including Nuno Bettencourt, Josh Homme and The Pope is worth reading about!?
